First snowfall of winter

The first snow of winter is always exciting for kids.

We bundled them up and let them loose outside. 

it was little man's first trip out to play in the snow.  he really enjoyed the dressing up part...

but not so much the cold air outside. 

He wouldn't even give the snow a lick

 even when the girls were eating it up like they were starving to death.

Dad makes everything better though.

and watching neighbors...

The snow was perfect ... but it sure was FREEZING out!

they didn't seem to care.

And then Carina decided to help dad shovel the driveway...

with a sled.

Birthday Boy!

that's the first time we've been able to say that!

Here's our first little BOY on his 1st Birthday!!!!

Cale did NOT know what to think of his cupcakes... this boy doesn't much like his hands getting too dirty-- but he definitely got into once he realized how yummy frosting can be!

I'd say they were a hit based on how much frosting made it all over his face!

and then came presents...

he was a BIG fan of those!

Then after playing with daddy

and getting hugs and kisses...

and trying out all of his new toys...

He crashed right there on the carpet in the living room!

Halloween 2013

Halloween 2013!

Can't believe it came and went already!

I had grand plans originally to do something really creative for Halloween

like coordinating costumes as a family

(would'a been cute!)

but

it turned out more like a last minute--grab the easiest costume you can find-- ordeal.

so. like. my. life. lately!

(deep breath)

I still think they had a great time.  Here they are trick-or-treating at Mike's work.

Danna- pink and purple butterfly

Carina- white bunny

Brynn- black cat

Cale- horse? or cow--we're not sure which

Mike- dinosaur

Tiff- I was a farmer- no pics (phew!)

little man was content for the duration of our visit since he had a sucker

(found out he is an addict)

candy addict.

I never seem to get pictures of the awesome things that go on at Mike's office.

They go pretty crazy with the decorations and the costumes.

It is something to look forward to every year.

and I miss taking pictures every year.

so it is what it is.
