Our San Diego trip in short:
Sunday:
Long driving day, whining, toys, 108 degrees (what the..), bathroom breaks, bumper to bumper traffic, patience, "finally made it!", smallest hotel room I've ever seen, the harbor, boats, huge tuna, seagulls, San Diego Temple at sunset is gorgeous!, walking, SNAILS!, pictures, back to hotel, blessed sleep…
Monday:
Wake up, mini muffins do not count as breakfast, Dennys, swimsuits, finding parking by the beach, fat seals suntanning, sand is fun, waves are big, collecting seaweed, Cale hates scary waves!, sand toys, giggles, Brr!, Crying, waves are bigger, sand is EVERYWHERE, hotel, yay for showers, Old Town, Mormon Battalion is perfect for the kiddos, gold panning, sister missionaries from Idaho, walking, old stuff, window shopping for souvenirs, expensive ice cream, visiting friends, yummy dinner, awesomest playroom EVER, stay up late talking, hotel, blessed sleep….
Tuesday:
Wake up early, Sea World!, parking is expensive, passes work (yay!), sucker fishes tickle, crowds, touched a shark!, so hot, dolphin show… sad we didn't get splashed, bathroom break, grumpy baby, Cale has diarrhea (great!), fish everywhere!, sea turtles, dolphins are our favorite, Killer Whale show… crying cause we got wet--(so funny!), salt water in my eyes!, most expensive pizza ever, bubbles, napping baby, more diarrhea, starfish, bat rays are so soft!, play time, more fish!, hour wait for rafting ride, cirque du soleil, oh my heck the diarrhea!, nighttime whale show, Wow!, dancing to music, tired, drive to hotel, laundromat, sleep-blessed sleep...
Wednesday:
Drive to Safari Park, wow!, long walking trails, lion cubs, safari bus ride, so hot, snack break, parrots, monkeys, play time, grumpy baby, gorillas, baby cheetah, giraffes!, cold pop break, lots of walking, Brynn is too slow, fireman carry, stinky bats, nicest couple to gave us nectar to feed the birds, cheetah run, whoa--5 seconds and it was over!, "one last picture!", hurry to San Diego zoo, "whew, made it in time", McDonalds for dinner, WOW!, worth renting a double stroller, huge rhinoceros, koalas, tapirs, forgot my camera-dang!, baby pandas, follow the hippo, animals at dusk, Male lion looked me in the eye!, within peeing distance!, hyenas awake, mountain lions are gorgeous, last ones in the park, stroller races, spectacular, back to hotel, blessed sleep...
Thursday:
Legoland day!, super crowded, broken flip-flops, boat ride with funny teenage guide, 45 minute wait in line, Danna's not tall enough to ride alone!, Cale meltdown, so hot, baby train ride, more waiting in lines!, expensive playground, bumper boats, spilled milk in backpack, huge lines, "Enough, lets leave!!!", angry momma, pizza break, outdoor couch, Birch Aquarium, forgotten camera, Jellyfish!, octopus are cool/gross, sharks, seahorses are the cutest!, boat maze toy, closes at 5:00-Dang!, looking for beach parking, road rage, sand is like silk, seaweed piles, jumping in waves, dumpster diving, sunset, sand everywhere!, showers, blessed sleep…
Friday:
Pack up hotel room, slow morning, Children's Museum, Wow!, Happy baby--finally!, forgotten camera AGAIN!, music makers, block towers, elevators are fun, chalkboard, riding wooden cars, story time, clay making, bounce house, making paper, snacks, 5 and under playground (heaven), bubble making room, line for 'touch the chicken'--What?!, glad we stayed the extra day, sit down for dinner, new hotel, color changing swimming pool at night, Cale loves it!, blessed sleep...
Saturday:
Pack up car, sand everywhere!, ants in hotel ... ew!, Long drive home, still hot, no traffic--yes!, potty breaks, snacks, lots of toys, we finally made it!, sleep--blessed sleep!
