can't sleep

I'm pretty sure when I was a kid I absolutely LOVED Halloween, cause, let's face it, when else do you get to load up on enough candy to last you the better part of a year? I never even cared all that much about what I would wear as a costume (I think I was a bunny a few years in a row and then a plain old witch quite a few times).
In high school I got a bit more creative with my costumes (I was a grandpa one year (remember that Jill?), and Little Bo Peep) but the magic of Halloween seemed to have left me back there.

Until this year. And I'm a little obsessed I think. Obsessed to the point that I can't sleep at night for the excitement of the decorations, the costumes and all the fun my girls are going to have loading up with all that candy!

So I've been thinking a lot about cute costume ideas. At 2 a.m. the other night (morning) when I couldn't sleep I decided to check some out online. Check some of these 'do it yourself' costumes. CUTE!

Jellyfish (love the use of the umbrella in this one)

(Rubik's cube--I've also been obsessed trying to solve one of these lately too.)

hot air balloon-SOO clever

Cupcake, the sprinkles are my favorite part

I wish I had a dog just so I could have this costume, HILARIOUS!

super simple dinosaur costume with sponge spikes.

Chef and his lobster (HA HA!)

And I love that these families have themed costumes. how clever.
Flag, Mt. Rushmore, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, Capitol building

This one takes the cake.  Hot dog vendors and their little hot dog! ADORABLE!

Danna's stuck on being a "bunny wabbit" this year so I wanted to make a theme around that. Here's my idea. . .

Danna will be the white rabbit, Mike will be the mad hatter (chuckle chuckle), and either Carina or I will be Alice. If she is, I'll be the queen of hearts and if I am, she'll be the cheshire cat.
What do you think? I hope we can pull something off soon so I can finally get some sleep!

M + T = LOVE!

My latest project was inspired by a picture I saw on a friend's wall,
So I spent some time today on photoshop trying to make my own version. . .

Tell me that doesn't look real.

I want to get it printed and put it up in our home somewhere cause it's too darn cute!

The Inside Look

If you knew my husband you'd know he doesn't fit the typical mould of some adult males out there. He's not into cars, guns, dirty jokes, swearing, motorcycles, video games, horror movies, junk food, weapons, hunting, burping, fighting or being a slob and watching football all day. (Please forgive me if I just defined your husband :))

My husband loves his bikes.

On his mission, when his mountain bike was delivered to him in the mail, it was love at first sight. Dazzling, brilliant, lime green "Jade".   (oh, that hurts. sniff~sniff)

In college he took a huge step and bought a sleek and sexy road bike for $1000 and named her "princess" -- his second love. (hiccup!)

I stole the scene for a while in 2005 while Mike and I were dating but after we were married these two babes found a way back into my husband's life and into his heart.

His "slight" obsession (rolling my eyes) has been the basis of many sarcastic jokes, many frustrations and many debates in our home. But this past Saturday Mike and I were participating in our normal banter, "good thing I love you so much or you'd drive me crazy" type of joking when I had bit of an epiphany.

I was attempting to clean out the basement (you know, the one Mike uses for weightlifting and riding on his precious bike trainer) when I came across something remarkable. . .

My name is Tiffany Sackley and I am a hoarder of cheap junk!
(though I'd like to consider myself a connoisseur of sorts. . .)

I love to yard sale (yes, it is a verb), I love D.I., I love sales of every kind. . . but only if they're extreme, and then I buy, buy, buy (with ideas in mind most of the time) and stash it all until I'm ready to attack the project.

I'll let you guess how often I get around to that. . .

{{{{BEWARE OF UPCOMING OBSESSION PICTURES}}}}

This is my scrapbooking table. That overfull binder is stuffed full just with stickers. I have 3 boxes of fun ribbon, a trolley of corrugated scissors, a jar of buttons, another jar of sparkly sequen things and on and on and on. . . (my mind is still dazed with all the possibilities!)

Here's my craft drawer set and stack of fabric (which doesn't include the big box upstairs). I've got paint, glue guns, stamps, glitter, felt, tulle, embellishments, pipe cleaners, beads galore, popsicle sticks, pom poms, google eyes, clay, etc. . . Oh love love love.

Heres my box of random picture frames I'd like to do something with eventually.

And my box of random silk flowers and other decorative stuff. (pleasure sigh)

And don't even get me started on little kid shoes. I decided to organize the box I had downstairs (of the things my 2 girls DONT fit into right now)
I know you're asking yourself, "How many girls does she have again?" Two. . . I only have two.

And the clincher. You know you're a shop/pack rat-aholic when you have a huge box of boys clothes that you bought yourself even though you don't have boys (and are not pregnant.)

So, to sum up this incredibly long and drawn out blog post. It turns out that my husband sure is overlooking a lot more about me that I am about him.
I guess maybe his beloved Jade and Princess help to cope with his obsessed and overwhelming wife.

Thanks babe!
