But after all is said and done, it's nice to have the assurance, at least in my head, that under all those suitcases, wet towels, blow up mattresses, and overflowing garbage bags things were sparkling (well, wiped down at least).
Luckily, my family doesn't have too high of expectations from me really. We had a trail to walk through to get to the bathrooms, enough to eat, and extra blankets for the few camping in the backyard. At least we have fun, right?
Without going into too many specifics, we did a lot of everything. . . lounging, bantering, chatting, eating, swinging, laughing, munching, watching, climbing, shooting, swimming, sleeping, traveling, joshing, giggling, running, napping, hanging, and, oh yeah, did I mention eating? We enjoyed the movie theater, Jackson Hole, pizza, extended family, swinging at the park, bike rides, board games, Laser Tag, the climbing wall, free babysitting, miniature golf, swimming, Sardines, Bear world, kiddie rides, and night games with glow sticks at the park. It was soo much fun!
It was still nice this morning, however, when the blow up beds were deflated, the suitcases were packed up and the tent was taken down from the back yard. We could see the floor and the bathroom counters again.
Good thing we like each other so much cause eternity may seem like a long time otherwise. Till next time. . .
here's Danna and her cousin, Jeff. (she called him her cuzband :)
here's one of the kids eating popsicles in the backyard.
Dana has gotten so big! And so blonde!
ReplyDeleteI think it's always worse to host family rather than be the one to crash the place. But I'm glad you guys had so much fun. I love the idea of night games with glow sticks! What games did you play?
ReplyDeleteAnd are you excited to finally have Amber near again? (soon)
Fun post, and boy, can I relate! But for me it seems, when family comes to visit, they move in! Ha Ha! Actually I am serious.
